A guided winter climbing course in Aviemore & the Cairngorms, Scotland is an excellent opportunity to experience the stunning beauty and challenging terrain of one of the best climbing destinations in the country.
A 2 day guided winter climbing course in the Cairngorms, Scotland is a perfect introduction to the beauty and challenges of winter climbing. The itinerary typically starts with a safety briefing and equipment check, followed by a session on essential climbing techniques such as using ice axes and crampons. Over the course of the trip, participants will get to climb a range of routes suitable for their level, under the guidance of an experienced instructor. The instructor will also teach navigation skills, including reading maps and using a compass. The days will be tailored to suit the group’s experience and skill level, with the aim of building confidence and competence in winter climbing.
Routes we might aim to climb could be the Runnel, Hell’s Lum, Fiacaill Coulouir, Hidden Chimney and many many more classics – we will select the routes based off your aims, experience and the weather on the day.
