Guiding on the Skye Munros

Join our 4 day guided Skye Cuillin munros course, we aim to summit the 11 munros during this time. With our tailored course, we will make the best of the weather and conditions during the 4 days with having an experienced guide by your side in this c

Due to the variety of weather conditions encountered in Scotland, this course is run with a conditions-based approach, meaning that your instructor/guide will use the best of conditions to maximise safety, your learning and overall experience throughout your course. Below is a sample itinerary.

Day 1 Sgurr nan Eag - Sgurr Dubh Mhor - Sgurr Alasdair

The southern Munros today, we head into the complex Coir' a' Ghrunnda where we will take short scramble on to the ridge to tackle Sgurr nan Eag. The Dubh is next, we make our way over some complex terrain to tick off this summit before heading over to the highest peak on the Cullin, Sgurr Alasdair. We finish our descent down the Great Stone Chute.

Day 2 Inn Pin - Sgurr Mhic Chonnic

The only 'climbing' peak in the Munro book, the dreaded Inaccessible Pinnacle on Sguur Dearg. We make our way up the south-west ridge before some easy section of scrambling leads us on to Sgurr Dearg. Time to get roped up and climb this iconic mountain, then for the exiting abseil off the end! We get our breath back before continuing down towards Corie Lagan, where we will keep our height along the ridge before making our way up towards Sgurr Mhic Chonnic, descent via Hartas aka Collie's ledge and 'bomber alley' onto the Great Stone Chute.

Day 3 Sgurr a Mhadaidh - Sgurr a’ Ghreadaidh - Sgurr na Banachdaich

The middle section of the Cullin today, we walk into the majestic Corie a' Ghreadaidh, keeping left, aiming for An Dorus. We get roped up for a few sections of tricky scrambling from the col, heading for Sgurr a' Mhadaidh. Retracing our steps we head back to the col and climb back out the other side, where we follow the ridgeline to the small summit of Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh. Ahead lies one of the best sections of continuous scrambling on the ridge which takes us to our final summit for the day, Sgurr na Banachdaich.

Day 4 Sgurr nan Gillean - Am Bastier - Bruach na Frithe

From the Sligachan Hotel, we make our way into the northern end of the Cullins. We weave our way into Corie a' Bhasteir, aiming for the col, where we plan to leave our rucksacks. We head for Sgurr nan Gillean scrambling up some fabulous sections of the ridge before heading through 'the window' and on to the summit. Retracing our steps we head back to the col, with an abseil in there for good measure! Now for the notorious 'Bad Step' en route to the summit of Am Bastier, a quick chat through where to put hands and feet, it's all over quickly and the summit lies just beyond. Again we retrace our way back to the bags, the bad step being easier going up! Bruach na Frithe is just a walk up the side of 'the tooth'
