EXCURSIÓN A LAS TIERRAS BAJAS Y MELROSE DESDE EDIMBURGO (PRIVADO)

Ven a conocer las Tierras Bajas Escocia que tanto enamoraron a Sir Walter Scott y donde encontrarás pueblecitos rurales, abadías medievales y paisajes encantadores.

Peebles: Nuestra primera parada la realizaremos en este pintoresco pueblo para recorrer sus calles y tomar contacto con la naturaleza recorriendo el río Tweed hasta descubrir el castillo Neidpath, construido en el siglo XIV.

Viaducto Leaderfoot: Utilizado en su momento para el ferrocarril, estuvo destinado a su demolición. Gracias a Historic Scotland, fue salvado de terminar siendo un montón de escombros y hoy es un regalo para nuestra memoria.

Mirador de Scott: A escasos minutos del viaducto, realizaremos otra parada para respirar aire puro y no hay mejor lugar para hacerlo que donde Sir Walter Scott, famoso escritor que defendió la lengua escocesa, adoraba visitar para admirar los amados paisajes que las Tierras Bajas ofrecen.

Estatua de William Wallace: Muy cerquita del lugar favorito de Scott, encontraremos la estatua en honor a William Wallace que fue construída en 1822. Bajo la mirada del gran héroe nacional, repasaremos los capítulos más importantes sobre su continua batalla por la libertad de Escocia en aquel famoso periodo de la historia conocido como las batallas por la independencia entre escoceses e ingleses.

Melrose: este pueblo alberga la abadía más famosa de las Tierras Bajas y en ella se encuentra enterrado el corazón del héroe y rey escocés, Robert The Bruce. ¿Quieres conocer todo sobre este héroe nacional que luchó por la independencia de Escocia? También tendremos tiempo para degustar la gastronomía local.

Capilla de Rosslyn: Esta capilla, con una arquitectura, grabados y relieves espectaculares, saltó a la gran pantalla gracias al famoso libro de Dan Brown, El código Da Vinci. La Capilla Rosslyn esconde pasajes de la historia dignos de ser destapados. Construida en 1446 como casa al servicio de Dios, está cargada de misterio, simbolismo e innumerables teorías, mitos y leyendas que tendrás que venir a descubrir de la mano de nuestros guías. A día de hoy es uno de los lugares más visitados en Escocia
