NC 500 Classic
This NC 500 Classic tour will take you across authentic Scotland, from bustling Edinburgh down the breathtaking West Coast. Explore picturesque villages and take in the striking scenery on your chosen path.
Day 1 – Edinburgh to Dunkeld
Depart Edinburgh via the iconic Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site. En route, visit the beautifully manicured Drummond Castle Gardens, or take an alternative route through Stirling to delve into the legendary battles of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
Day 2 – Cairngorms National Park
Journey through the heart of Speyside, choosing between a detour to the scenic Black Isle peninsula or a visit to the formidable Fort George military complex. Conclude the day in the charming town of Dornoch, stopping en route at the historic Balblair Distillery.
Day 3 – Crossing the Flow Country
Experience the raw beauty of the Highlands, from dramatic coastlines and iconic glens to misty mountains and tranquil lochs. Enjoy the views from your Land Rover or stop to explore this wild landscape on foot.
Day 4 – Discovering Unspoilt Assynt
Venture into one of Britain’s last remaining truly untamed regions, where towering cliffs and deep caves teem with wildlife. Climb the striking Suilven for panoramic views or opt for a gentler walk along the golden sands of Oldshoremore Beach.
Day 5 – Along the Arctic Convoy Coast
Follow the winding coastal road past the Summer Isles towards Ullapool, keeping an eye out for seals and sea eagles. Stop for lunch at the award-winning Seafood Shack before continuing your leisurely drive down the spectacular West Coast.
Day 6 – Scotland’s Most Iconic Road
Embark on one of the NC500’s most renowned stretches – the Bealach na Bà pass. Visit the picturesque Eilean Donan Castle, then journey past the base of Ben Nevis before reaching the hidden coastal haven of Port Appin.
Day 7 – Return to Edinburgh
Choose your return route to Edinburgh: either through the scenic landscapes of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, or along the dramatic ‘Skyfall’ road, made famous by the James Bond film.
