Ruthven Barracks was literally the Jacobites last stand after Culloden. Nearly 3000 men from the battle gathered at Ruthven to await further instructions from the Prince, only to be told days later that the cause was lost and they were to look after themselves.
This Jacobite Tour visits places that were frequented and witnessed by the Jacobite army and Prince Charlie.
The Ruthven Barracks tour visits the last locations marking the very end of the 1745 rising and the Jacobite cause.
Bonnie Prince Charlie was born in 1720 and died in exile in 1788 and led the failed Jacobite rising in 1745.
Most recently the story behind Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite cause, was portrayed in the recent much acclaimed television series Outlander. Where it followed Clan Fraser and its fight for the Prince and the Jacobite's.
The Jacobite Tour takes you on an incredible journey - that eventually saw the end of the Stuarts claim to the British Throne but more importantly the destruction of the Highlands and Clan system in Scotland
This is a full day tour tour departing from Greater Glasgow and Clyde Valley area only.
