Day tour to Glenfinnan visitor centre and monument. Tour departs your accommodation in Inverness and travels down Loch Ness and into Lochaber region before arriving at Glenfinnan, sitting at the head of beautiful Loch Shiel. Glenfinnan an is a major historical site in Scotland, this is where Charles Edward Stuart, known forever more as 'Bonnie Prince Charlie ' raised his 'standard' in August 1745, and began his campaign to reclaim the British throne for the exiled Stuart's from the Hanoverians. Full story is explained in the excellent visitor centre. This tour can now include a visit to the Prince's Cairn at Loch Nan Uamh, and down to Kinlochmoidart. This is also the site of the Glenfinnan railway viaduct, made famous in the Harry Potter films. .This is a place not to be missed if your a Harry Potter fan or have an interest in Jacobite History and Bonnie Prince Charlie, plus the beautiful scenery and Loch Shiel.
