In celebration of the beautiful city of Edinburgh, the heritage of Scotland and the exclusive address of the former Overseas League, 100 Princes Street is inspired by the rich history of the many great Scottish explorers and adventurers who made this historic building their ‘home away from home’.
Led by the design team behind the iconic Ashford Castle in Ireland, Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan, this restoration will look to protect and retain the original heart and soul of 100 Princes Street, restoring the original building and its iconic features. Inspired by Alexander McQueen, the design team sought to create a sense of place, working with local artisans to create bespoke pieces including custom-made tartan designed by Araminta Campbell and a central staircase which features a hand-painted mural by Croxford & Saunders (pictured), honouring the adventures of several great Scottish explorers.
The residents-only “Explorers’ Club” will offer “whatever, whenever” service excellence, culturally inspired design and famous signature dishes. Stand-out features will include a wine wall with over 200 fine wines, showcasing the range from the family-owned vineyard Bouchard Finlayson, and an incredible collection of acclaimed Scottish whiskies adorning one wall. Guests will be invited to select from a carefully curated menu with the world’s rarest libations, time-honoured classics, delicious cocktails, exclusively hand-crafted spirits and Scotland’s “liquid gold”, before retiring to the fireside as the panoramic windows frame the Castle.
