Dalvourn Holiday Cottages are set amidst some of the most spectacular scenery that Scotland has to offer. Located just 8 miles south of Inverness city centre and within easy reach of a wonderful selection of activities and attractions, the cottages are the perfect base for you to explore the region during your time here in the Highlands.
Our cottages are styled so you can relax and make the most of your holiday. They have all the modern appliances and facilities you would expect from a high-quality establishment to ensure you spend the maximum time enjoying your holiday.
Situated on the 200 acres of Dalvourn Farm, Farr in the beautiful Strathnairn Glen just east of Loch Ness, the self-catering cottages are set in a secluded birch woodland. They all have large windows and carefully positioned bird tables for watching the great variety of wild birds that inhabit the surrounding birch woods.
There are extensive on-farm nature walks and mountain bikes are available for hire.
There are approximately four miles of beautiful woodland and riverside walks on Dalvourn Farm connecting with forest walks/roads within Forest Enterprise woods allowing you to walk or mountain bike for miles into the hills on quiet forest roads. There is a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife with red squirrel, deer, golden eagle, red kite, osprey, buzzard, owl, hawk and woodpecker frequently seen.
10 acres of Dalvourn Moor is designated as a Red Deer Park. The Moor is located just across the public road adjacent to the cottages and can be viewed from some cottages. Guests can also view the deer by accessing a gate and walking along a path at the edge of the adjacent tree plantation.
This is an excellent location for your self-catering holiday in the Scottish Highlands. There is so much to see with Loch Ness, Inverness, Culloden, Nairn and Aviemore, as well as historic sites such as Cawdor Castle and Urquhart Castle and famous golf courses, all within easy reach. You are deep in the Scottish Highlands yet close enough to Inverness city shopping centre, restaurants and pubs, Eden Court theatre, cinemas and sports facilities to make your holiday one to remember.
