Come enjoy our little piece of paradise. Slow down to Seil Island pace and let the sound of the wind and waterfowl lull you to sleep in The Wee Studio. Lie and look at the stars or watch the sun rise from the comfort of your bed.
The Wee studio has a very comfortable queensize bed (4 foot 6 inches) with mattress toppers for extra comfort. There is a pillow menu too. Freshly laundered Egyption cotton bedlinens.
There is a smart internet TV BBCiplayer,and DVDs for the days you want to veg out. You have full use of our lovely deck with beautifull views of the hills and sound of Seil.
You can also explore my beautiful sub tropical garden which has bananasand rare blue bamboo from Yunan in China. It has lots of places to sit and read or relax. You are welcome to also sit in my citrus house and enjoy the lemon blossom in season.
There is a small fridge,microwave,kettle,and toaster in the studio. To make your own breakfast or meals if you wish. Several drawers and hangers for your clothing as well as a case stand.
Homemade continental breakfast is provided to eat in at your small table or out on the deck on warmer days. We bake our own bread, cinnamon buns and croissants. There is also complimentary home baking,to give you a taste of Scotland! Fresh coffee,and juice are also provided as well as preserves, and cereals.
The studio is serviced every day for your comfort. We have a drying room for your wet or damp clothing. We ask you not to leave wet items in the studio or any outdoor gear - we are happy to dry clothing for you. We can also do laundry for you. We provide warm fluffy robes and slippers. The shower room has underfloor heating, quality Scottish Shower gels, etc, and fluffy towels are provided.
The studio has an adjustable heater for the cooler days. The studio has sole use of a powershower room which is very close by, literally 4 steps
over the deck into the main house via the french doors (see photos). It is accessed through the open plan lounge.
There is plenty of parking. We can accomadate kayakas,and motor bikes. We are in walking distance of our local pub,The Tigh An Truish, which has bar meals and a resaurant. There is also The Oyster Bar at Ellenabeich just a 10 minute drive away on the other side of the island. They also serve delicious local seafood as well as other things.
The bus for Oban stops at the bottom of our road, a 2 minute walk away. Oban has links to other islands via the Calmac ferries as well as shopping and a distillery! There is an excellent Sea Life Adventure trip to the Corrywrecken Whirlpool which is good if you would like to see some wildlife such as Whales, Dolphins and local birdlife. Its just a 10 minute walk from our door to the pontoon. Otters are frequent visitors there. In Ellenabeich you can also explore the nearby tiny island of Easedale. The ferry takes five minutes. There are no cars on Easedale, only wheelbarrows which the locals use to transport their shopping. Its a beautiful place to go wild swimming in one of the many ancient slate quarries.
Or maybe just walk round the island and take some lunch at The Puffer Bar.
The Wee Studio is well situated to also explore the other close neighbouring island of Luing (pronounced Ling) where you will find The Atlantic Islands Centre which has a small shop and cafe with homemade local foods,and small museum to local life. If you are looking for peace and quiet, good food, excellent scenery and very warm welcome, then you have found the right place! We are waiting to welcome you to our peaceful home.
