DESCRIPTION
We start the walk at Migvie Kirk, a stunning deconsecrated church standing on part of the Tillypronie Estate, which has been restored by local artisans. We ascend past a pheasant farm to Overlook Loch, which sits above the grand mansion of Tillypronie House. The views from the loch over the Howe of Cromar are impressive, but become increasingly breathtaking on the short but steep ascent to the top of Baderonoch Hill. On the summit there is a well-constructed cairn in memory of Gavin Astor, one of the former owners of Tillypronie. On the scenic descent we pass by the Lazy Well lochans which are used for Duck Flighting and Fly Fishing. We retrace our steps and then turn towards Reinacharn Lodge back to Migvie Kirk, with a birds eye view of Tillypronie House.
TERRAIN
One steep short section, but mainly on Land Rover tracks, with some single tracks. Some heather-bashing around the Lochans.
Walking poles recommended as some parts are a little rough and may be wet underfoot.
