The Royal National Mòd is Scotland’s premier Gaelic festival and is famous for celebrating our Gaelic linguistic and cultural heritage. The annual festival returns to Dunoon in 2018 and provides opportunities for people of all ages to perform across a range of competitive disciplines including Gaelic music and song, highland dancing, instrumental, drama, sport and literature. In celebration of the Year of Young People, children and young adults play a central role in preparing, promoting and contributing to the festival. In addition to the usual exciting competitions and fringe events you can expect a Junior Shinty Cup and drama, language and music workshops in the run up to the festival as well as a brand new app developed by young people. A celebration of our Gaelic culture and young talent not to be missed!
Following a Co-Design approach, young people are a driving force in shaping, developing and implementing all events for the Year of Young People 2018.
