Stranraer iCentre is located just down from the town centre, only a few minutes from the harbour front where we offer local information and advice for this hidden gem in the South West of Scotland.
Stranraer is situated at the head of Loch Ryan on the southern tip of Scotland. We have many things to do in our area including fishing and walking. We hold some of the most beautiful gardens in the Dumfries & Galloway area. We also have great golf courses in the area, one of which, The Creachmore, was the last course to be designed by James Braid. One of our hotels, Knockinaam Lodge, situated near the fishing village of Portpatrick was frequented by none other than Sir Winston Churchill, where he discussed war policies with other cabinet members. Cairnryan, the next village to Stranraer, has the shortest ferry crossing available to Northern Ireland. We offer a wide range of excellent Scottish products and also a wide selection of books and maps for the area including a wide array of local history books. Our staff's wide range of knowledge can assist any visitor whether you're looking for accommodation, transport or just a question on something within the town.
