2 day Scotch whisky tour

This is a PRIVATE BESPOKE 2 day Scotch whisky tour. Join us on this wonderful Scottish tour and experience authentic Scotland on your Journey through the Highlands.

Day 1

This Scotch whisky experience tour is for the whisky enthusiast. We depart from your accommodation and head for Highlands and Speyside.

First stop is the Hermitage and a chance to walk amongst the Douglas Firs, some of which are Scotland’s tallest trees. You will also have a chance to peak into Ossian’s Hall, a 200-year-old folly built by the Duke of Athol.

After your walk, I am sure you will agree its time for a whisky. Your first tour will be at the smallest Distillery in Scotland; Edradour. This Highland single malt has a wonderful smooth flavour and sets the scene for what is to come.

Every distilleries location helps to give each whisky its own distinct flavour. As we travel north into the mountains, our next stop is Dalwhinnie, Scotland’s highest distillery. The elevation of 1152 feet is said to give this dram it wonderful taste. Here you will have a chance to sample 3 different single malts.

The last part of this journey we will be heading for Aviemore and your accommodation.

Day 2

After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast our first stop is the world-famous Glenlivet Distillery. This is considered one of Scotland’s best whisky tours.

Now your first whisky is done we head over a mountain pass and through Scotland’s second highest village of Tomintoul as we head for Royal Deeside.

Its then onto Royal Lochnagar for your final whisky experience and a chance to sample this fragrant Highland single malt with its delightful balance of fruit and spices.

From here it’s onwards to the village of Braemar and then our return to Edinburgh takes us over Glen Shee and through what was Scotland’s ancient capital of Perth.

Heartland Travel - Tours of Scotland

We provide small group tours (no more than 16 passengers) of the Highlands, Isle of Skye and Loch Ness. Experience authentic Scotland with our small family business. We provide 2 separate scheduled tours - a 3 day tour to the Isle of Skye departing from St. Andrews, Dundee and Stirling, and a 4 day tour to the Isle of Skye and Inverness which departs from Edinburgh. We can also create bespoke tours for anyone who comes with the glimmer of an idea they want to make real. An exhaustive knowledge of Scotland also means that we are able to drop the itinerary for that unexpected magical detour.
