4-DAY HIGHLANDS and SKYE Adventure

Where legends and landscapes intertwine - a four-day journey through Scotland's most dramatic corners, from misty glens to fairy pools, ancient castles to hidden trails. Not suitable for under 5 years

Step into the wild heart of Scotland on our 4-Day Highland & Skye Explorer—an unforgettable journey through ancient landscapes, hidden trails, and storied castles. From the moment we depart Edinburgh, the road unfolds like a tapestry of misty glens, shimmering lochs and soaring peaks. You’ll meet the gentle giants of the Highlands—iconic shaggy cows and towering Clydesdales—before wandering forest paths and chasing waterfalls. Traverse the rugged beauty of Glencoe—where each twist in the road reveals another breathtaking vista—and venture onto the Isle of Skye, a land of fairytale pools and dramatic coastlines.

This isn’t just a sightseeing trip—it’s an invitation to immerse yourself in Scotland’s untamed spirit. Marvel at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, stand in the shadow of Eilean Donan Castle at sunset and follow the shores of Loch Ness as legends and landscapes intertwine.

With every stop—be it a remote beach, a centuries-old distillery, or a quiet forest trail—you’ll feel the magic of Scotland seep into your soul. Join us for an adventure that goes beyond the guidebooks and into the very essence of the Highlands.

Day 1: Edinburgh to Glencoe

Bracklinn Falls:

  • Experience the raw beauty of these thundering falls on a circular walk, crossing a striking copper-topped bridge with perfect photo opportunities of the cascading waters below.

Meet Highland Cows

  • Meet friendly Highland Cows
  • Photo opportunities with our furry friends

Callander and Lunch:

  • Pause in this charming Highland town for lunch at the award-winning Mhor Bread, known for its artisanal baking and local specialities.

Gorge Walking Adventure:

  • Don your wetsuit for an exciting gorge walking experience with qualified guides, navigating natural obstacles whilst surrounded by stunning Highland scenery. For anyone that's not experienced gorge walking before, think of this as an exhilarating natural water park!

Evening Light at Black Mount:

  • Capture the perfect Highland photograph as the evening light illuminates Rannoch Moor's vast wilderness, with the distinctive Black Mount as your backdrop.

Glencoe:

  • End your day witnessing the majesty of Glencoe's Three Sisters before settling into your accommodation for the evening.

Day 2: Glencoe to Fort William Area

Road to the Isles:

  • Begin your day journeying along one of Scotland's most spectacular coastal routes, stopping at the pristine Silver Sands of Morar where white sand beaches meet turquoise waters.

Isle of Skye Ferry:

  • When we reach Mallaig, your guide will pick up an incredible packed lunch, including afternoon tea, to be enjoyed as you sail across the waters.
  • Cross to the magical Isle of Skye by ferry, watching for seabirds and perhaps even dolphins as the mainland fades into the distance.

Fairy Pools:

  • Embark on a mesmerising walk to Skye's famous Fairy Pools, where crystal-clear waters cascade down from the Black Cuillin mountains, creating perfect pools for photographs or, for the brave, a wild swim.

Portree Harbour:

  • Pause briefly in Skye's capital to admire the iconic colourful houses lining the harbour and perhaps grab a quick refreshment.

Eilean Donan Castle:

  • End your day at Scotland's most photographed castle, perfectly positioned for capturing the evening light as it illuminates this 13th-century fortress.

Overnight stays in Skye are hard to find and can over crowd a very small island, so we recommend coming back to the main land to sleep

Day 3: Fort William Area to Inverness

Glenfinnan Adventure:

  • Start your day paddleboarding beneath the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, timing your adventure to witness the Jacobite Steam Train (the real Hogwarts Express) cross the bridge above.

Fort Augustus:

  • Stop in this charming village where the Caledonian Canal meets Loch Ness. Watch boats navigate the impressive stepped locks whilst enjoying lunch in this historic setting.

Urquhart Castle:

  • Explore the dramatic ruins of this strategic fortress, learning about its rich history whilst keeping watch for Nessie on the dark waters of Loch Ness.

Dores Beach:

  • End your day with a peaceful walk along this hidden beach, enjoying spectacular views down Loch Ness as the evening light plays across the water.

Day 4: Inverness to Edinburgh

Dalwhinnie Distillery:

  • Begin your journey south at Scotland's highest distillery, where the pure mountain air and crystal-clear spring water create distinctive Highland whisky.

House of Bruar

  • Lunch at the 'Harrods of the Highlands'
  • Browse Scottish luxury goods
  • Short walk to Bruar Falls

The Hermitage Forest and Waterfall:

  • Wander through towering Douglas firs to discover the magical Black Linn Falls and Ossian's Hall, this Victorian pleasure ground's a natural beauty.

Wallace Monument

  • Conclude your tour at this iconic landmark with panoramic views
  • Learn about Scotland's national hero

End your Highland Journey back in Edinburgh
