Arran Coastal Way
Discover the magic of Arran, often called “Scotland in miniature,” on a wonderfully varied island walk.
Arran delivers Scotland in all its glory - mountains, beaches, wildlife and whisky, all wrapped up in one unforgettable island adventure. Often described as “Scotland in miniature,” this wonderfully varied walking itinerary invites you to slow down, switch off and fully immerse yourself in island life.
A scenic one-hour ferry crossing from Ardrossan brings you to Brodick, the lively hub of the island and your starting point. From here, it doesn’t take long to leave the bustle behind as the route heads north on quiet, uncrowded trails through the charming village of Sannox, with dramatic coastal views and the ever-present chance of spotting basking seals offshore - and, if luck is on your side, a majestic golden eagle soaring overhead.
With beautiful beaches, rugged mountain terrain, rich wildlife and warm island hospitality throughout, this is an unforgettable walking experience on one of Scotland’s most captivating islands - proof that sometimes the best adventures really do come in miniature.
