A collection of five routes in Ayrshire, firth of Clyde and the Clyde Islands. Each route is designed to showcase some of the best of Scotland's landscapes, history and culture.

Choose from five routes

  • 1. Ayrshire has so much to offer. A breathtaking coastal vista from Ballantrae north to the historically significant town of Ayr. Quirky little villages with links to Robert the Bruce and Robert Burns. World famous golf links at Turnberry, Troon and Prestwick - Birthplace of The Open Championship in 1860.


  • 2. This route is known as the gateway to the Islands. You’ll visit several seaside towns, learn about the traditional industries and the Victorian heritage as we head north to Greenock, which from 1800 to the 1980’s was a major shipbuilding town and important port. For OUTLANDER fans we will see several film locations along the way which your Driver/Guide will be please to tell you about. outlander locations


If you’d like to leave the mainland of the west of Scotland to experience the life of an Islander select one of the following three routes:


  • 3. A one day trip to the beautiful Island of Arran . Known as Scotland in miniature. An hour long ferry trip and you truly do feel “away from it all“. Uncover relics of Scotlands Gaelic and Norse heritage, enjoy quiet beach walks, explore castle ruins ,eat some locally sourced cuisine and drink some locally made whisky. Arran distillery


  • 4. A one day trip to the Isle of Bute to highlight the islands hidden gems. The town of Rothesay ,its 13th century castle and its delicious fish n chips awaits. Mount Stuart is a country house and castle not to be missed .


  • 5. tour sees you leave the mainland at the seaside town of Largs. A wander around Largs will surprise most visitors. It has historic links with the Viking dynasty. The year 1263 saw the final battle between the Scots and the Norsemen, Battle of Largs.


All tours start at a location in West Scotland mainland suitable for the group. Refreshments and snacks will be provided by the Driver/Guide.
