Going out at dusk on a night-time SKYEFARI

© Paul Sharman / Skyefari

Isle of Skye, Scotland

Dusk to Dark Night Skyefari

This approximately 3-hour tour starts in the evening and runs into dark to see what animals we can find venturing out as the light levels drop and night time begins. More suited to the summer months rather than winter. Can be added to a day tour too!

Looking for something very different to do on your visit to Skye? How about a 2 to 3-hour night SKYEFARI? Our experienced guide David Lambie will take you out to look for those creatures that feel more comfortable emerging at dusk and into darkness, utilising a hand-held night vision camera, you may be able to spot animals like deer, otters, pine martens, owls and bats plus several other species.

You will be transported in our custom 4x4 Mercedes minibus and may take some trails and tracks off the main roads as well to access some of Skye's remoter places. Definitely a unique experience so wrap up warm and come join us!

Please note you must call or email us to book in advance as tours do not run every day so we need as much advance notice as possible please so we can agree a date with you to suit. We will then look forward to welcoming you on your night-time adventure with us - don't forget to wrap up warm!

Tour company information

SKYEFARI

We run fully-guided wildlife safaris on the Isle of Skye aboard our specially-outfitted 4x4 Mercedes minibus. We aim to show you what we call the "Skye 5" which are golden and white-tailed sea eagles, otter, deer and seals. That's our main target list but of course we will take all opportunities to view other Scottish wildlife that comes along. This could include such other species as hen harriers and other birds of prey, pine martens (already seen one in 2021!) or even whales, dolphins and porpoise from some shore locations. We run either a full day trip of 7-8 hours, or a 3-hour night tour.
