Educational Tour of Wick

The Nuclear Archive is in Wick, near the airport, Wick library is one of the green hubs established by the Scottish Government and is a great resource.

The Nuclear Archive near the airport in Wick is a must see if you are interested in family history and / or the Nuclear industry. They have a lot of information about Caithness at War. The East Caithness Leisure Centre is a 15 minute walk from the archive, or you can pick up a taxi at the airport. There are also buses into town. The virtual marine research centre at Lyth is in private premises, but there is information in the Wick library, and they have Environmental News, which is the update to the North Highland Way. Wick Paths have created a great network of paths.

Tour company information

Friends of the North Highland Way

Enjoy a great day out exploring the north coast of Scotland on foot, mountain bike or on horseback. We can provide a passport to check into the churches along the route and help with great wildlife watching spots. There are in fact two routes, one along the coast and the other over A'Mhoine.

Opening times

This is self guided, so no opening times, but you will need to check the opening times of the various churches as they change constantly.
