FISHING - FAMILY FRIENDLY
Experience the thrill of mackerel and pollock fishing, an iconic island favourite. We are privileged to help many children catch their first fish and their proud excited smiles are a delight.
Blue skies, fishing and laughter, the days that summers are made off! For many there is no happier memory than fishing on holiday as a child and to catch your first fish is a memorable moment.

On your big family fishing adventure, we sail from the historic fishing village of Stein in Waternish. ‘Elena C’ is ideal for children to learn to fish. It’s a stable boat that won’t rock around during the excitment of the catch. Mackerel fishing is what we offer, because line caught mackerel remains on the sustainable fish list. We only catch enough for you to take home for dinner and will assist in gutting it ready for cooking. While conservation is very close to our heart, we believe that it’s important that children, young and old, learn where our dinner comes from and the part that it plays in the food chain. Catching your own dinner is good life skill to learn and many children love it. Sometimes we will share our catch with the seabirds.
If fishing is not for your family, remember we do Family Friendly Wildlife Watching, and children are welcome on all of our other trips too.
