Millport, Isle of Cumbrae

Gin Tour and Tasting

Welcome to the Isle of Cumbrae, Scotland's most accessible island, a short one-hour train ride from Glasgow and two from Edinburgh. Our gin distillery tours celebrate the fascinating history of gin and showcase the history of the Clyde.

Relax and make yourself at home in our cosy island gin distillery. Our tour begins with a welcome drink, a refreshing gin and tonic, made with our signature gin, Nostalgin.

During our one-hour tour, we will tell you about our story; how 5 women from the UK, Canada and the USA met in a bar and ended up opening a gin distillery on a small Scottish island! We will introduce you to the history of distilling, which is packed with interesting facts and colourful characters; and during our time together we will also tell you about the fascinating history of Millport and its important role in the smuggling history of the Clyde.

Our tour includes a welcome gin and tonic, additional samples of two of our Millport gins as well as a souvenir tasting glass to take home.

Known as Scotland's most accessible island, a trip to the Isle of Cumbrae couldn't be any easier, with a scenic train ride from Glasgow or Edinburgh to the seaside town of Largs. It's then a 5-minute walk and a quick 8-minute ferry ride to the Isle of Cumbrae, where the bus meets every ferry to take you into the town of Millport. Known as the island of 1000 bikes, you can hire a bike from several island shops and cycle the easy 10-miles around the island as part of your day out. Choose from several island pubs and restaurants for some traditional Scottish fare.

Coming by cruise ship to the Port of Greenock? We collaborate with several local tour operators who can organize a wonderful day for you including a visit to Isle of Cumbrae Distillers.
