Day 1 – Edinburgh to Fort William

Departing Edinburgh early in the morning, we set off on an unforgettable journey into the Scottish Highlands. As the cityscape fades into rolling farmland and towering mountains, our first stop brings us to The Hermitage, where a peaceful woodland walk leads to a stunning cascading waterfall—a perfect introduction to Scotland’s natural beauty.

Continuing north, we arrive in the charming Highland town of Pitlochry, a picturesque stop where you can explore the quaint streets, browse local shops, or enjoy a coffee. From there, we venture deeper into the wild landscapes of Creag Meagaidh National Nature Reserve, where rugged scenery and a haven for wildlife await. Keep an eye out for the famous Highland cows as we pause to admire the view!

Reaching Fort William, Scotland’s outdoor capital, we board the legendary Jacobite Steam Train, known to many as the Harry Potter Train. This spectacular rail journey winds through breathtaking Highland scenery, crossing the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, instantly recognizable from the Harry Potter films. Upon reaching the end of the line, we disembark in the coastal fishing town of Mallaig, where your guide will meet you for the return journey.

On the way back, we stop at the Silver Sands of Morar, a stretch of pristine white beaches that could easily be mistaken for the Caribbean! We then visit the Glenfinnan Monument, which stands as a tribute to Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite Uprising of 1745. Here, you’ll uncover the story of this historic rebellion and its tragic conclusion before continuing to Fort William, where you’ll settle in for the night.

Day 2 – Fort William to Edinburgh

The day begins with a journey north to Loch Ness, where you'll have the opportunity to cruise across its mysterious waters while keeping an eye out for Nessie, the legendary Loch Ness Monster! Leaving the loch behind, we travel through the dramatic landscapes of Glencoe, stopping to admire the striking peaks of the Three Sisters and learn about the area's tragic history, including the infamous Glencoe Massacre.

Heading further south, we visit the scenic village of Killin, where you can wander through its beautiful surroundings and take in the sight of the Falls of Dochart, a spectacular series of rushing rapids. We then make a brief stop in the historic town of Callander, often referred to as the Gateway to the Highlands, providing a perfect place to stretch your legs before our final stop.

Before returning to Edinburgh, we visit the grounds of the striking Doune Castle, a medieval fortress with a fascinating history. Film and TV fans may recognize it from its appearances in Outlander, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Game of Thrones. After taking in its surroundings, we begin our journey back to the capital, arriving in Edinburgh between 7-8 PM, bringing an end to two incredible days exploring the best of the Scottish Highlands!
