Lying off Scotland’s northwest coast, this remote island chain is threaded together by spectacular coastal roads and ferry crossings, creating a truly memorable island-hopping journey. Travel from the mainland to Barra in the south, continue through the Uists, and journey north to Harris and Lewis before returning to the mainland.
Along the way, explore the Hebridean landscape on a series of short, optional hikes that reveal the islands at their best—from sweeping white-sand beaches edged with flower-rich machair to rugged moorland, dramatic cliffs and secluded rocky coves.
