White Water Rafting River Garry

River Garry

White Water Rafting in Fort William (2.5 hrs)

Whitewater Rafting near Fort William and Loch Ness, on awesome grade 3 and 4 river rapids. The River Garry has fantastic, guaranteed white water, and river levels. Minimum age 8 years old. Available April to October.

What to Expect

White water rafting in Fort William on the River Garry is an exhilarating experience, with fantastic rapids with names such as Double or Quits, Surfs Up, Hey Diddle Diddle, and the Tunnel of Love. Big bouncy waves, drops, stoppers and plenty of surfing are the order of the day.

Other rivers can be used for white water rafting near Fort William, but rain is required to get them into condition. They can rise and fall extremely quickly, and unfortunately, the river levels can’t be guaranteed. This makes the River Garry the best rafting river in the Highlands. The dam on the River Garry releases water from April to October, normally on a Thursday, with some other days available too.

White water rafting on the River Garry is a classic grade 3 and 4 white water experience.

If you are unable to make one of the dam release dates, then you may want to consider white water kayaking as a great alternative, which needs less water.
