Take a 2-hour stroll through Ullapool and uncover its history through fascinating facts and stories. Led by a local guide, this relaxed tour invites you to ask questions and see the village from a new perspective.
Step into Ullapool’s past on our much-loved Explorer Tour, an engaging journey through history, landscape, and local life. Guided by knowledgeable and personable locals, you’ll explore the village’s historic heart before venturing out along beautiful coastal and riverside paths. Hear fascinating stories of early settlers and Viking heritage, and gain insight into the geological forces that shaped this striking corner of the Highlands. The tour also weaves in powerful accounts of fishing life, the Clearances, and emigration, all shared in an accessible and entertaining way that makes history feel vivid and real. The tour is also suited for older children who like history and stories.
On this 2 hour tour we will cover roughly 2 miles, walking mainly on tarmac with some steps and gradients. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Starting point is at the harbour. Make sure to bring your mobile / camera with you as there will be lovely views on the way. Our tours are dog-friendly, well-behaved dogs are always welcome!
