St Andrews Old Course

Chauffeur Driven Day Tour to St Andrews and the fishing villages of Fife

A relaxed private tour exploring Dunfermline, Falkland, historic St Andrews, and the charming fishing villages of the East Neuk, with coastal scenery, rich history, and a flexible, chauffeur‑driven experience.

Saltire Executive Travel invites you on a relaxed coastal journey through the Kingdom of Fife, a day filled with history, charming villages, and some of Scotland’s most picturesque scenery.

Your private chauffeur will collect you from your Edinburgh hotel or cruise ship before we travel north across the impressive Queensferry Crossing.

Our first stop is Dunfermline, once the ancient capital of Scotland. Here you can explore the magnificent Abbey, final resting place of several Scottish kings, and visit the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie, one of the world’s most influential philanthropists.

We continue to the beautifully preserved village of Falkland, home to a fine Renaissance palace and a traditional square that feels wonderfully timeless. It’s a peaceful place to wander and soak up the atmosphere.

Our journey then leads us to St Andrews, a coastal town renowned for its university, medieval streets, cathedral ruins, and of course, the world‑famous Old Course. You’ll have time to explore at your own pace — whether that’s strolling the beach, visiting historic sites, or enjoying lunch in one of the town’s many cafés and restaurants.

After St Andrews, we follow the coastline into the East Neuk of Fife, a collection of postcard‑perfect fishing villages known for their colourful harbours, cobbled lanes, and fresh seafood. Highlights include:

  • Anstruther – famous for its harbour and award‑winning fish and chips
  • Pittenweem – a working fishing village with real character
  • Crail – one of Scotland’s prettiest coastal spots, complete with a tiny historic harbour

It’s a gentle, scenic drive through some of the most charming communities in Scotland, offering a glimpse into the region’s maritime heritage and coastal beauty.

After a day of history, coastline, and relaxed exploration, we return to Edinburgh in comfort.

This itinerary is fully flexible, if you’d like extra time somewhere, a photo stop, or a detour to explore something unique, we’re happy to tailor the day to your interests.
