The history and architecture of 'the best-preserved Victorian city centre in Europe' during the years of its greatest wealth and power. Where did the wealth come from? Who were the decision-makers? What made Glasgow 'the second city of the Empire'? We visit important buildings symbolising the grand vision of the city fathers, created by a role of honour of architects, designers and craftsmen. Many splendid interiors are featured. Duration approximately 2.5-3 hours. £19.95
All tours are illustrated throughout with a wealth of photographs, many of Victorian Glasgow, as well as old drawings, bringing the past to life. Tours by car or minibus are available on request (at an additional cost).
