St. Andrews

St Andrews and the harbour villages of the Kingdom of Fife

Explore the quaint old fishing villages of the east coast. Then follow in the footsteps of the great golfers in the home of golf at the historic Old Course. Finish the day at the restored Falkland Palace and see the oldest tennis court in the UK!

Explore the amazing ruins of St Andrews Cathedral and the clifftop Castle. Taste fresh lobster at the village of Crail and enjoy the 16th century houses.

Cross the stunning new Queensferry Crossing. Enjoy great views of the Forth Rail Bridge, opened in 1890 and awarded UNESCO World Heritage status.

The only place in the world you can see three different bridges from three centuries!

Travel through the Kingdom of Fife to reach the charming old fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife.

Each village has its own character and history. Explore the white sandy beaches of Elie, see the fishing boats in the old stone built harbours of St Monans or Crail.

Arrive at the ancient University town of St. Andrews, the spiritual home of golf and renowned the world over for its world class golf courses.

St Andrews Links has developed over 600 years to become one of the most famous locations in golf, with all seven courses open to the public.

St Andrews is also home to the magnificent ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, built around 1130.

Explore the cliff top St Andrews Castle, and the ancient (1413) University which all bring a sense of the past to the whole town. Enjoy the many fascinating shops and cafes and long sandy beaches in this historic student town.

Travel along the Lomond Hills to the medieval village of Falkland. Visit the beautifully reconstructed rooms and gardens of Falkland Palace, a fantastic example of French-influenced Renaissance architecture.

Built between 1450 and 1541 and used as a hunting lodge for several Scottish monarchs including Mary Queen of Scots.
