1. Oban Seafood Hut

Also known as ‘The Green Shack’, this is a favourite foodie spot amongst locals and visitors. Located on the south side of the town by the railway pier, the hut offers an array of lobster, scallops, crab and more. You can buy your favourites to eat on the spot or take them away with you to enjoy later.

2. Lobster Shack, North Berwick
A visit to North Berwick in East Lothian isn’t complete without a trip to the Lobster Shack in the harbour, where you can indulge in lobster, crab bisque, seafood chowder and breaded squid. Enjoy your seafood with an atmospheric stroll along the beach, or watch the sun set across the horizon towards Fife.

3. The Oyster Shed Farm Shop, Skye
Located in the village of Carbost on the Isle of Skye, where you’ll also find the Talisker Distillery, the Oyster Shed Farm Shop provides the highest quality of Pacific oysters grown in the crystal-clear waters of Loch Harport, which you can enjoy as you admire the view. If oysters don’t take your fancy, they also offer smoked salmon, mussels, crab, scallops, smoked Scottish game and a variety of cheese and chutneys.

4. The Seafood Shack, Ullapool

Set up by two local lassies, the shack has won many awards for its beautifully cooked seafood including langoustines cooked in a hot garlic and thyme butter, traditional Cullen Skink, fresh local oysters and scallops served with caramelised red onion and wild rice to get your taste buds tingling.

5. Reilly Shellfish, Crail
Head to the harbour of the pretty seaside village of Crail in Fife and visit Reilly Shellfish, also known as The Lobster Hut. Established in 1974, this quaint little shack overlooks the picturesque harbour and serves up fresh North Sea crab and lobster dishes.

7. The Oyster Bar, Ellenabeich
The small village of Ellenabeich on the Isle of Seil in Argyll is home to The Oyster Bar, a favourite amongst visitors and locals alike. This family-run bar is only 16 miles south of Oban in the perfect setting to enjoy a view as you tuck into your dinner. 11. The Seafood Bothy, Stonehaven
Housed in a converted horse-box and situated on the pier of Stonehaven’s historic harbour, the Seafood Bothy serves amazing street-food using the freshest seafood landed from their own boat the “Even Less”. The menu changes regularly, depending on what comes in off the boat, but expect delicious seafood salad platters, wraps, baguettes, pies and more. And the sea-views from the harbour are pretty special too!

12. Cheesy Toast Shack, Fife

Are you ready for award-winning gourmet grilled cheese toasties with a variety of toppings that will leave you licking your lips for days? We know this isn’t a seafood shack as such, but as it’s wonderfully located by the sea, overlooking Kingsbarns Beach and St Andrews Pier, we thought it would be rude not to include. The shack is definitely one to visit, especially after a long walk along the coast.
