Meet Sally Dowden at Speyside Wildlife
Sally owns Speyside Wildlife, which provides much-loved wildlife tours and holidays across Scotland and beyond.
“I live in the Cairngorms National Park and own Speyside Wildlife which we started in 1991. We’re based in Grantown-on-Spey and provide a wide range of wildlife-watching holiday options, including guided day trips in the Highlands. We get lots of repeat visitors, as they love what we do and trust us to do the best for them.
For me, the beauty of Scotland - especially from a wildlife watching perspective - is that it is small and perfectly formed, so you can easily get from the mountains to moorland or the sea within the same day. There’s a wide variety of species and habitats that you must travel miles to get to in other countries. That opens up the potential for numerous unique experiences, each different and changeable with the seasons, the weather, the light and what wildlife may make an appearance to delight you!
I myself shall be holidaying in Scotland this year. Probably in our favourite hotel bolt hole on the west coast. I know that there are lots of ‘bolt holes’ around Scotland just waiting to be discovered! They will become holiday favourites for people for all sorts of different reasons.”
Sally also recommends seeing the west coast, so why not check our west coast sightseeing itinerary for more inspiration for a once-in-a-lifetime Scottish holiday?
