ISLA DE SKYE-CASTILLO DE EILEAN DONAN

Excursión de un día a la isla de Skye desde Inverness. Visitamos el castillo de Eilean Donan. Hacemos paradas para fotografiar lugares icónicos en el trayecto. Llegamos a Portree. Guía en español.

En esta excursión a la ISLA DE SKYE partiendo de Inverness recorremos por carretera la gran falla tectónica llamada “Great Glen Fault” hasta Invermoriston y desde allí descendemos hacia la costa oeste por la orilla de Loch Cluanie y el valle de las “Cinco Hermanas de Kintail” y, por el “Paso de los Españoles” llegamos hasta el CASTILLO DE EILEAN DONAN el cual en el año 1719 fue ocupado por una expedición española.

Este castillo tan insigne es el más fotografiado de Escocia y seguro que lo habéis visto en anuncios publicitarios o en alguna de estas películas: El Señor de Ballantrae (1953), The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970), Los Inmortales (1986), Rob Roy (1995), Lago Ness (1995), 007: el mundo nunca es suficiente (1999), Braveheart (1995), El mundo nunca es suficiente (1999) La Trampa (1999) o en la película más reciente y oscarizada Elizabeth: la edad del oro (2007) y en La Boda de mi novia (2008).

Tras la visita de una hora al castillo (opcional) pasamos a la ISLA DE SKYE cruzando el puente de KYLE OF LOCHALSH, puente que une la isla de Gran Bretaña con la Isla de Skye, la única isla de las Hébridas interiores unida por un puente que es una auténtica obra maestra de la ingeniería.

Y atravesando entre volcanes extinguidos el territorio más joven del país, las montañas CUILLIN, llegamos a la capital de la isla, PORTREE, con tiempo libre para almorzar y conocer este pintoresco puerto.

Desde allí volvemos a Inverness bordeando LOCH CARRON y como siempre parando en lugares escogidos para hacer fotos.
