Wildlife Guiding
Wild Orkney Walks offers wildlife tours where you can hire us as a wildlife guide for half a day or longer. Our tours offer more flexibility and we can cover a greater distance than on foot.
This is a great option if you have your own vehicle, or one of the following:
- Work with some local tour guides to do a joint tour (additional costs)
- Work with a local taxi company to do a wildlife tour (additional costs)
All arrangements are made by Wild Orkney Walks.
For our wildlife tours, we create an itinerary for you based on the wildlife that you are interested in trying to see and the length of time you want to be out for. We recommend a minimum of 4 hours for a wildlife tour.
Prices begin from £44 per hour and are dependent on the nature of the enquiry. Here are some examples:

5 hours £220
6 hours £264
7-8 hours £330 (maximum day rate, excluding islands)

Wild Orkney Walks operates all year round, offering guided walks for small groups from 1 person up to a maximum of 6 people. We can take you by foot to beautiful locations, allowing you to escape the crowds and get off the beaten track. From busy seabird cliffs to colourful wildflower meadows, our walks cover it all. In addition we also offer Bespoke walks, Island trips and a Wildlife Guiding Service. One of the many things we love about walking in Orkney is the surprise of the unknown, you just never know what you might see which adds to the enjoyment of being outdoors.
