11 Best adventure activities & adrenaline sports in Scotland

Few countries rival Scotland when it comes to dramatic scenery. Our high places were made for bungee jumping, the open ocean for scuba diving and fast flowing rivers for white water rafting. The only way to make adventure activities even more memorable is to experience them in one of the most breathtaking places in the world.

    Bungee jumping is one of the ultimate adventure activities in Scotland and an experience you're going to remember for the rest of your life. In Scotland you can take your pick between free-falling into the lush surroundings of Highland Perthshire at Killiecrankie or leaping off Titan Crane in Glasgow (yes, a real-life, A-listed historic crane!). The Killecrankie location also offers the Highland Swing and the new exciting Zip Park, letting you zip from tree to tree across the mighty River Garry.

    Feel the pull of the kite above you as your kiteboard cuts through the turquoise waters below your feet. Kite surfing takes a little bit of wakeboarding, paragliding and surfing and delivers one high-adrenaline sport on top of the water.

    Try it: On the stunning Isle of Tiree with Wild Diamond Watersports. With its flat water, curving horseshoe shape and shallow gradient, beautiful Gott Bay at the east side of the island is the perfect place to learn to kite surf, as well as other activities in Scotland too.

    When it comes to outdoor adventure sports in Scotland, canyoning has to be at the top of our list. Not many people can say they've jumped off a cliff into a deep-water pool before slipping and sliding down a natural water flume - try canyoning and you can though!

    Try it: In Fort William with Vertical Descents. As the Outdoor Capital of the UK, Fort William offers some of the best outdoor experiences possible. Its towering mountains, deep glens and fast flowing waterfalls make it the perfect place to try canyoning.
