Mike and Debbie from Michigan at Laphroaig

Islay and Campbeltown 4 nights/5 days

This whisky tour starts in Glasgow, having superb tastings along the way. You can add on and change distilleries (where possible), travel as a couple or bring friends. Here’s a fantastic 4 night/5 day tour.

Day 1: Marcus meets you at Glasgow Airport and with your first whisky heads to Campbeltown stopping at the famous Loch Lomond for photos. Then time for lunch in the lovely wee town of Inveraray – home to the Clan Campbell with a good pub and 2 whisky shops. This afternoon tour Springbank. Overnight in Campbeltown, in a hotel with a large award winning whisky bar.

Day 2: This morning you sample four drams at Glen Scotia, rich in original features and equipment. Then sail to the isle of Islay. Today and tomorrow, you have many choices. We have included the Number One Warehouse Tasting, straight from the cask at Bowmore Distillery, the oldest continually operating distillery in Scotland. Finally, you check in to your hotel in Bowmore, which has a good bar, overnight here.

Day 3/4 : There are many distillery options for touring and dramming over the next two days: Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Ardnahoe, Kilchoman, Bruichladdich, Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Port Ellen. If you add a day to this tour you can also visit Jura Distillery on a wee island on it’s own. Overnight Bowmore.

Day 5: Leaving Islay on the morning ferry, back to the mainland and either add on to your tour with a day and night on Arran, Glasgow or Edinburgh, just ask for ideas.
