Departing from Edinburgh, this enchanting day tour takes you to iconic locations that inspired J.K. Rowling and featured in the Harry Potter films. Begin with a walk down Victoria Street, the real-life Diagon Alley, and visit Greyfriars Kirkyard, where familiar names like Tom Riddle appear on gravestones.

Travel north to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, where the Hogwarts Express famously crosses the valley, and enjoy breathtaking views of Loch Shiel—used as the Black Lake in the films. Stop at Lochaber for lunch and a chance to explore nearby filming spots, then visit Alnwick Castle or Doune Castle, depending on your route, both used for Hogwarts scenes in early films.

1. Victoria Street & Grassmarket (8:30 AM – 9:15 AM)

Begin with a walking tour through Edinburgh's Old Town. Explore Victoria Street, the real-life inspiration for Diagon Alley, and browse magical shops and wand boutiques. Visit Greyfriars Kirkyard, where gravestones like "Tom Riddle" inspired character names.

2. The Elephant House Café (Photo Stop)

Snap a photo outside the café where J.K. Rowling wrote early chapters of Harry Potter. Though currently closed, it remains a pilgrimage site for fans.

3. Drive to Glenfinnan Viaduct (9:30 AM – 1:00 PM)

Travel north through stunning Highland scenery to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, where the Hogwarts Express crosses the valley. Enjoy a short walk to the viewpoint and watch for passing trains.4. Loch Shiel (Lunch & Scenic Stop – 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM)

Picnic or dine in nearby Fort William with views of Loch Shiel, used as the Black Lake in the films. Optional stop at a local café or Harry Potter-themed lunch pack.

5. Jacobite Steam Train (Optional Add-On)

Upgrade your tour to ride the Jacobite Steam Train, the real-life Hogwarts Express, from Fort William to Mallaig (subject to availability and seasonal schedule).

6. Return Journey via Rannoch Moor (2:00 PM – 5:30 PM)

Drive through Rannoch Moor, another filming location, with dramatic landscapes and storytelling en route. Your guide will share trivia, behind-the-scenes tales, and wizarding lore.

7. Arrive Back in Edinburgh (5:30 PM)
