Walk among Kilmartin’s standing stones, discover Clan Campbell country and see castles beside Highland lochs, with an expert guide and no more than 16 travellers.
Long before Scotland had castles, people were raising stones in Kilmartin Glen. This standing stones and castles day tour from Glasgow takes you into that ancient landscape, where stone circles and burial cairns tell a story stretching back more than 5,000 years.
Begin in Luss beside Loch Lomond, then travel into Argyll to Inveraray Castle, home of the Dukes of Argyll and Clan Campbell. Explore its interiors when open, with admission paid separately, before continuing to Kilmartin’s prehistoric monuments. Later, walk towards Kilchurn Castle for views of the ruined stronghold beside Loch Awe. Your expert guide helps bring the archaeology and clan history into focus, with plenty of time on foot to appreciate the setting of each stop before the scenic return through Tyndrum and Loch Lomond.
