There is more to Scotland than the North Coast 500

This Scottish motorcycle tour traverses some great twisty roads in the Scottish Highlands including the best parts of the North Coast 500 and the Isle of Skye. It will appeal to riders who love technically challenging roads with outstanding scenery.

This motorcycle tour of Scotland embraces some of the best roads in the Scottish Highlands and begins and ends in Glasgow.

The circuit around the north Scottish coast is one long favoured by bikers and used to be referred to as "a trip roon the tap" (around to top). These days folks talk about "The North Coast 500" or "NC500" which relates to specific circuit beginning and ending in Inverness. The NC500 helps tourists explore parts of northern Scotland that have long been overlooked. The resulting tourism has benefited local businesses along the route which is admirable but sadly the NC500 also misses lost of interesting places that are just off the main roads.

We are sure that many tourists taking the North Coast 500 route will deviate from the plan whilst others may need help to find what is lurking around the bend or over the hill. As few will fly directly to Inverness to begin such a journey they will no doubt want to experience more of what Scotland has to offer. This tour addresses the needs of such travellers taking them on a journey around 1100 miles that incorporates the best parts of the North Coast 500 from a rider’s perspective.

This Scottish motorcycle tour will take riders along interesting less travelled roads some further inland and others right on the coast but almost all in some of the most remote areas of Scotland. Naturally we also chose some of our favourite roads south of Inverness to take you to and from the north coast circuit and no trip to Scotland would be complete without visiting at least one island and so we include parts of the Isle of Skye.

We hope you will agree that this trip is a most interesting motorbike tour enabling riders to see much more of Scotland and we hope that many will want to return again and again and take part in other motorcycle tours we operate to discover all that Scotland has to offer the biker!

Accommodation is typically half board in 4 star hotels with each rider in their own private room. Price variations apply if two riders share or for a rider with pillion.
