Glenfiddich

Private Tour along the Whisky Trail ( one to six days)

With more than one hundred whisky distilleries in Scotland, we can help you decide where to go for an excellent tour, a wonderful tasting or even a masterclass in whisky. Let us know how many days you have to tour and let us do the rest.

We offer whisky tours from one day to six days. Visit the amazing whisky island of peaty Islay or the Malt Whisky Trail of Speyside in the Highlands. Add them together for a wonderful week of whisky. Don't forget the special lowland whiskies too.

Highlights: Loch Lomond National Park, Inveraray, Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Bowmore Distillery, Caol Ila Distillery, Glenfiddich Distillery, Speyside Cooperage, Glenlivet, Macallan Distillery, and Cardhu Distilleries, Cairngorm National Park.

Day One: Travel west enjoying the magnificent scenery of famous Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Admire the majestic Ben Lomond mountain before taking the “Rest and Be Thankful” pass over to the Georgian village of Inveraray.

Enjoy a stunning ferry crossing over for your first sight of Islay – the Whisky Island

Day Two: This world famous small island offers the whisky connoisseur fantastic options.

Tours and tastings are on offer at Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig. Each one with a local expert who can describe the special story of each whisky. We can organise a masterclass in whisky tasting where you may even go out into the interior of the island to cut your own peat!

Day Three: Today enjoy some of the other famous malt whisky on Islay.

Bowmore Distillery has enjoyed a stunning setting on Loch Indaal since 1779 and is widely recognised as one of the finest single malt whisky’s in the world.

On the northern shores of Islay is Caol Ila Distillery where you see distillers at work tending the six copper stills, and a magnificent view across the Sound of Islay to the spectacular Paps of Jura.

It is a short ferry journey over to the island of Jura, renowned for its magnificently wild landscape and the most remote distillery in Scotland.

Day four: Leave beautiful Islay on the morning ferry to enjoy a full day of relaxing travel along the Argyll coast.

Arrive for a lunch in the bustling ferry port of Oban and sample some of Scotland’s best seafood. You might even see it landed ashore!

Option to visit Oban distillery for a tasting before travelling past Castle Stalker, along Loch Linnhe and north past Fort William.

Enjoy a stop at the charming village of Fort Augustus and watch the fun of the boats going up through the five locks of Thomas Telford’s wonderful Caledonian Canal.

Drive along famous Loch Ness, looking for the monster, past the majestic ruins of Urquhart Castle before arriving for an overnight stay in the small city of Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.

Day five: Continue the discovery of the best of Scottish whisky by following the Malt Whisky Trail of Speyside.

Many wonderful tours and tastings on offer in the heart of Highland Speyside. Perhaps visit Strathisla, the oldest distillery in the region which occupies a beautiful position next to the River Isla. Cardhu Distillery dates back to the 19th Century and produces a full-bodied, peaty whisky.

Enjoy a visit to the amazing Speyside Cooperage, the only place you can see the hand crafted whisky barrels being created.

To end the day visit Scotland’s newest Whisky Experience at the famous MacAllan distillery. Enjoy a masterclass tasting and sample vintage whisky only available here in Speyside.

Day six: On this final day there are more wonderful distilleries to visit on the journey south or perhaps enjoy Scone Palace or Blair Castle to hear 700 years of history.

Enjoy a tasting at Scotland’s highest distillery Dalwhinnie. High up in the centre of the Cairngorm National Park the whisky here has matured in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

Perhaps visit Erdradour – Scotland’s smallest distillery near the bustling Highland town of Pitlochry. A hugely entertaining and informative tour begins with a dram of this speical whisky.
