Science Bespoke Private Tour

Looking for something different? Do you enjoy learning, research and education? Join me for a different view on Scotland

Scotland is a small nation with 5.4 Mio people, however, Scots have changed the world with their various inventions.

Whether it is the telephone, the MRI scanner, penicillin, disposable contact lenses, the improved steam engine, the flashing toilet, tarmac or the cloned sheep Dolly. The Scots have a real impact on the world how we know it.

If you start with James Hutton, who was born in Edinburgh and besides creating geology as we know it today he also was a medical doctor and a lawyer. He was very much part of Edinburgh's Enlightenment, which is tangible still if you walk through Edinburgh today. You can also visit "Hutton's Section" on King Arthur's Seat where Hutton made his first assumptions on the age of the earth.

Today's Edinburgh still is very vibrant with innovations and culture but it is by no means the only place. During the industrialisation Glasgow was on the forefront with its connection to the New World with the tobacco trade (and yes, slavery).

Not to mention, mapping, infrastructure such as tarmac roads and the railway network.

It has not stopped either good education is provided in Scotland and results in research into diseases such as cancer, high tech developments, such as gaming.

Scotland is probably best known for her beauty and due to this there is a lot to protect. Therefore renewal energy is striving. In the past hydro electric schemes were widely spread today wind and tidal are readily available sources and areas of great innovations.

Nature and history are both areas where Scotland is very rich and if anything for your science tour you will find you are spoilt for choice. Get in touch to find out more!
