Ayrshire y Arran

Fácil de llegar a ella e incluso más fácil de explorar, la región de Ayrshire y Arran está situada en la costa occidental de Escocia, con su maravilloso estilo de vida isleño, pequeñas ciudades en mitad del campo y playas de arena.

Islas

Tras cruzar el estuario de Clyde mediante un corto trayecto en ferry podrás explorar bien la isla de Arran o la de Cumbrae, ¡o incluso las dos! Vive el ritmo de la vida en las islas, con deliciosa gastronomía, emocionantes actividades al aire libre y hermosos paisajes.

Historia

Esta es la región que nos dio a nuestro Bardo Nacional, Robert Burns. Explora las grandes atracciones de Burns, recorre un antiguo castillo o descubre información sobre los vikingos que en el pasado colonizaron estas costas.

Gastronomía 

Tanto Ayrshire & Arran producen una gama de delicias culinarias que no querrás perderte. Prueba el marisco fresco, que se pesca diariamente en el mar o siéntate a disfrutar de un plato de cordero, ternera o cerdo criados en la región, acompañado de las tatties (patatas) de Ayrshire. O date un capricho con un postre de helado, chocolate y muchos otros dulces.

Viajes en Ayrshire y Arran

Cómo llegar

Es fácil llegar a Ayrshire y Arran desde cualquiera de las principales ciudades de Escocia, aunque la más cercana es Glasgow, a solo media hora por carretera. Puedes llegar a Ayrshire y Arran en autocar o tren desde muchas de las principales ciudades del Reino Unido, o también puedes ir en coche por autopista. En verano hay un ferry que opera entre Campbeltown, en Argyll, y Ardrossan.

Cómo desplazarte

Una vez aquí, puedes viajar en bicicleta, o andar por las principales rutas y senderos, utilizar el servicio de autobuses locales, alquilar un coche o utilizar el tuyo propio, y llegar en ferry a Arran en menos de una hora, o a Cumbrae en tan solo 10 minutos.
