Sleeps 4 in two en-suite bedrooms
Four poster bed, freestanding bath tub and woodburning stove in master bedroom.
In the heart of Rothiemurchus, a short walk to the Estate Farm Shop
Weekly lets in high season, short breaks also available November-March.
In the Bird Bedroom, swallows swoop above your four poster bed. After soaking away any remaining worries in the big bathtub, warm up and cosy down by the fireside. The Cloud Bedroom is an equally lovely place to drift off to sleep, with the quiet of a Rothiemurchus evening broken only by birdsong and the distant sounds of our fold of Highland cattle who often graze close by.
The outside space makes this cottage extremely special. On warmer evenings you can sit outside with a glass of something cool whilst your supper cooks in the outdoor pizza oven. Watch the swifts in the skies above and look out for Ospreys which can often be seen overhead. Enjoy the antics of the red squirrels - new residents of the drey which we built specially for them in the tree at the bottom of the garden.
The outdoor relaxation room provides a tranquil spot for some reading or morning yoga. Why not book a session with our resident yoga instructor Katie? It also makes an ideal spot for an end-of-day massage with one of our recommended mobile massage therapists.
With a bedroom at each end of the cottage and two separate entrances, it's an ideal place if you like to eat and socialise together in the kitchen and living room and then have your own privacy and space. Both bedrooms are en-suite with large walk-in rain showers. There's no need to leave your four-legged family members at home as the cottage is completely dog friendly, and its large garden is completely secure.
From the cottage it's only a short walk to the Farm Shop each morning for fresh bread and supplies. That's also the meeting point for activities on the estate such as falconry or quad bike treks. Honeysuckle is our closest cottage to Aviemore which is only a 15 minute walk away. Head in the other direction and there are tracks and trails leading through Rothiemurchus Forest past the Lily Loch towards Loch an Eilein. For a longer leg stretch, you can walk or cycle all the way to atmospheric Glen Einich on the far edge of the estate. Look out for wild red deer on the hillsides.
