The campsite is run by a small team of volunteers and advance booking is essential in order for us to manage the campsite for your enjoyment. Check our website and Facebook page for more information.
Levenwick is in the south mainland just off the A970, 17 miles south of Lerwick and 10 miles north of Sumburgh Head. If you are coming from Lerwick, stay on along the main road (don't turn left into the village) and you'll see the Community Hall (white building with modern wooden extension) on your left - the campsite is next to the Community Hall
Our campsite is open from 1 May - 30 September only.

The Community Hall is available for hire throughout the year and hosts community events to which our visitors are very welcome.
6 touring pitches, 12 tent pitches.
Tents - from £13 to £25 per night Motorhomes/Caravans - from £20 per night
The prices above include 2 adults only - additional charges apply per person per night
Awnings - by prior arrangment please, additional charge may apply
Electric hook-up (if needed) - additional charge, please enquire.
Our fully accessible showers and toilets are for exclusive use of campsite users.
Laundry and simple kitchen facilities are available in our comfortable campsite room where you will find information for visitors, leaflets, maps, local events, wildlife sightings etc.
The secluded community garden just below the campsite is a peaceful place to sit, picnic, take in the panoramic views and listen and watch for birds such as curlew (whaap), oystercatcher (shalder) great skua (bonxie) - and many more. You may be very lucky and see orcas, dolphins or porpoises and you will certainly see seals! Shetland sheep and ponies often graze on croftland near the campsite.
Levenwick is the perfect spot for night-sky watching.
The campsite is an ideal location for exploring Shetland's south mainland and visiting St Ninians Isle, The Crofthouse Museum Sumburgh Head Lighthouse, Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve Hoswick Visitor Centre and much, much more.
There are well-stocked local shops nearby at Bigton (community owned and run) and Dunrossness (3 miles south of Levenwick).There is a bakery and Spar shop at Sandwick.
