HOSTGA (The Highlands of Scotland Tour Guide Association) provides a high quality, professional tour guiding service for a wide range of visitors.
Local guides - local knowledge! We are the local specialists for touring the Highlands of Scotland and we work in many different contexts as tour guides: for coach tour operators, conference delegates, cruise ship operators and agents, hotels, castles, estates, distilleries, golf clubs, small private groups, individuals and families. We accompany extended tours and full/half day outings.
Our clients range from the curious visitor to the specialist. We greet geologists, conservationists, naturalists, genealogists, 'Outlander', 'Macbeth' and other film location fans, NC 500 travellers, walkers, anthropologists, archaeologists, fishermen, golfing groups and many more, from all over the world.
All members have undertaken training on all aspects of guiding. Many are fluent in one or more foreign languages. Several have the appropriate licences to carry paying passengers in small coaches or luxury vehicles. Several run their own small tour companies. Some do extended walking tours.
HOSTGA guides are very enthusiastic and passionate about Scotland. Many of us have specialist knowledge and are willing to go the extra mile to provide a truly unique experience.
