Great Glen Way

Great Glen Way Holidays

On towpaths, riverside pathways and on winding trails between heather-clad hills, follow the Caledonian Canal through Scotland's Great Glen on the Great Glen Way, with views over Ben Nevis and Loch Ness along the way.

Contours' holidays are self-guided, so you can tailor your departure date and daily mileages to match your pace and schedule. Explore the trail alone or build a group from friends and family. Your holiday includes daily luggage transfers, 24/7 emergency support, breakfast each morning, and all the maps and guidebooks you'll need along the way.

We offer holidays along the full Great Glen Way for walkers and runners.

The Full Great Glen Way Trail: for walkers | for runners

Cover 73 miles from Fort William to Inverness on the full Great Glen Way. This route is easy to navigate and sticks primarily to well-surfaced trails and towpaths, exploring lush green landscapes between towering hills and glittering lochs. Choose from five-, six- and seven-day walking itineraries, or pull on your running shoes and take on this stunning route over 2-5 days.

Great Glen Way Short Break

Our short break can be covered in three or four walking days, perfect for a long weekend. Our short break was built with walkers in mind, but if you're interested in running it instead, get in touch, and we'll be happy to help.

Covering three nights and two days on the trail, our Great Glen Way Short Break is ideal for a long weekend. The holiday explores the scenic central section of the trail, Fort Augustus to Drumnadrochit.

Looking to modify our standard tours? It's easy to add extra nights at stops of your choosing, so you can build in plenty of rest days and explore the area in full.
