Loch Fyne
Greenock Shore Excursion: Trossachs, Highlands, Stirlingshire
Embark on our Highlands experience tour, as we travel through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park to Stirling, where you can either explore the city, Stirling Castle or the William Wallace Monument.
Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond
A charming, picturesque conservation village. Nestled on the banks of Loch Lomond, it features a historic church built in 1640 on an ancient pagan site, and a Viking hogback gravestone - a type of Viking grave only found in the British Isles. Luss also carries the bold title of the ‘most beautiful village in Scotland’
Rest and be Thankful
A viewpoint commanding stunning views of Glen Kinglas below.
Inveraray Castle
The iconic Inveraray Castle is home and residence to the Clan Chiefs of Clan Campbell, also known as the 'Duke & Duchess of Argyle'. The Castle itself is magnificent, and its walls are made from sandstone with a green hue, with the castle often being referred to as the Emerald Castle. The grounds are open to the public, but there is a charge to enter the castle or the garden. If you don’t want to visit inside the castle, you can still freely explore the grounds, cafe and shop downstairs.
Kilchurn Castle
Our next stop is Kilchurn Castle in Loch Awe, a great stop for photos. It was a formidable fortress in its time, surrounded by water on three sides.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Making our way down from the Highlands, we will drive through the Queen Elizabeth National Park, into the Trossachs, in the summer months we will stop to hand feed our much loved 'Highland cows'.
Stirling
Stirling is next, a historical city steeped in proud heritage and affectionately regarded as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’. We would ask you to select one of the three following attractions to visit: the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle or the city centre itself.
Kelpies
The tallest horse statues in the world, the iconic ‘Kelpies’ are our last attraction of the day, before heading back to the cruise ship. (time permitting).
