Winter Mountaineering Intro Course - Cairngorms, Aviemore

Join our Winter Mountaineering course, based in Aviemore, Cairngorms. Our aim is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to look after you and your climbing partner in the harsh Scottish conditions.

Day 1  Cairngorms.

Day one will we concentrate on being able to move around on steeper slopes using good footwork, use of the ice axe, anchor selection, construction and how we tie in and basic belay techniques.

Day 2  Cairngorms.

Day two will be looking at putting our techniques from day one into context, potentially climbing a grade 1 gully; we will use the techniques from day one and build upon this during the ascent.
