Whisky Prestige Distillers Tour

This is a full day chauffeur driven experience exploring how to get the most out of a one-day whisky experience from Scotland’s central belt. We have a full itinerary, going deep into the Scottish Highlands, visiting two stunning distilleries.

Our first stop is Glenturret Distillery where we will take a tour of the distillery with an experienced tour guide. This is the oldest working distillery in Scotland today and has just undergone a beautiful renovation of the visitor centre, and restaurants. Today it is still a family owned, independent business. Set in the Perthshire countryside, the distillery holds on vigorously to its artisan roots, producing beautifully handcrafted whiskies with traditional methods.

Pitlochry is our next stop for some lunch or a short walk around town. Situated at the foot of Ben Vrackie on the River Tummel it really is in a stunning location in the heart of Scotland. There is plenty to see in this lovely Victorian town. There is a great choice of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants all within easy reach on the main street, as well as beautiful outdoor space and river walks to take advantage of.

Our next stop is the Dalwhinnie Distillery, beautifully located right in the heart of the highlands. This is the highest distillery in all of Scotland sitting at 352m above sea level, yet still dwarfed by the surrounding Cairngorm mountain range It really is a special location, producing a range of Dalwhinnie single malt and blended whiskies. Here we will take a tour of the distillery to understand the full whisky making process with a chance, of course, to taste a dram or two at the end of the tour. We will round this off with a visit to the distillery shop before making our way towards home.

Back in Edinburgh you will be dropped at a location of your choice, perhaps to enjoy a dram in one of Edinburgh's many pubs to round off your day.

The journey

Our journey will take us past some of Scotland’s most amazing locations. Starting in Edinburgh in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, standing watch over Scotland’s capital, there has been evidence of a fort on the rock since the iron age around 1200 BC, this is the most besieged location in Britain. We leave the city and before long we are in Scotland’s wide-open space. We will pass the amazing steel structure of The Kelpies constructed in 2014, they stand proudly in Helix park and are clearly visible from the road.

Next, we are in battle country and we will pass Stirling castle and the Bannockburn battle site, these are locations of much bloodshed in Scotland’s history.

As we head further north, we will be passing through some of Scotland’s stunning countryside with mountains that are only topped by Ben Nevis, the highest in Britain, and forests where the tallest trees in the country stand.

Your tour includes pick up and drop off at your location of choice, exclusive use of a chauffeur driven luxury vehicle with expert whisky host. Chilled water will be provided in the vehicle throughout your tour. In order to give you complete control of costs, entry to distillery tours and attractions, meals and drinks are purchased at your discretion. We are more than happy to offer support with bookings and guidance on local amenities
