We’ve also got brilliant beginner-friendly bike parks and pump tracks, amazing mountain biking events, biker-friendly accommodation and a network of guides, shops and cafés for that all important cake stop.

Scotland has over 25 mountain biking centres, including the world-class trails of 7stanes Glentress in the Scottish Borders and Nevis Range, near Fort William.

Top mountain biking centres

Green and blue-graded tracks are perfect for beginners, whilst more confident riders will love the red, black and orange-graded trails. Just remember to stop occasionally to admire the amazing views.

7Stanes Mountain Bike Centres

The 7stanes are world-class mountain bike centres that span the south of Scotland. From beginner to expert, there are graded trails for all levels at these popular centres and some have on-site facilities including, toilets, café, bike hire and retail and bike wash.

What's new at Glentress

Plans to make Glentress a world-class experience have taken a big step forward - be one of the first riders to try it out!

New taster trails at Glentress

Glentress now has a new network of trails. Choose from green, blue, red and black network trails which link into the existing network and offer new descents. There are also green, blue, red and black taster trails – short stand-alone loops, and a shared climb leading onto descents. A public vote named the trails: Apple Peel, Turn and Burn, Smells Like Tweed Spirit and Castle Black.

A new multi-user path is also now open, providing almost 4 km of accessible trails for walkers, cyclists and those with limited mobility to enjoy. A remaining section will be completed in December.
