Overlooking the Mercat Cross, Shelter Café is positioned in the centre of historical Old Aberdeen. It offers fresh coffee, cakes and home-made bagels and paninis.
Occupying a redeveloped historical building on the campus of the University of Aberdeen, Shelter filled the market niche for a non-student café. With a chic upstairs seating it varies between being lively and relaxed, but the quality of locally roasted coffee remains constant. The staff is happy to point you in the right direction to the next stop of your tour through the town, be it nearby Seaton Park, Brig o'Balgownie or King's College.
